The Ridiculously Large Society

We live in a ridiculously large society. Everything we want and need are ridiculously large and comes in ridiculously large amounts. You wake up, drink coffee from a ridiculously large cup, dress from a ridiculously large wardrobe, drive to work in a ridiculously large car to a ridiculously, hoping to get a ridiculously large paycheck. When in reality, you're just one person out of a ridiculously large amount of other workers, cleaning the shit of people who are making ridiculously large sums of money. You drive to your ridiculously large house in your ridiculously large car, greet your ridiculously large children and your wife with her ridiculously large breasts and ridiculously large jewelry. Because you have to have ridiculously large breasts to be attractive, right? You all eat your ridiculously large meals in front of your ridiculously large telly, watching all those advertisements that tell you to spend a ridiculously amount of money that you don't actually have on a ridiculously amount of shit that you don't actually need. All the while, you drive up ridiculously large debts until men in dark suits, odd haircuts, and menacing watches come and take all the ridiculously large stuff you ever had. Yes, including your "attractive" wife with her ridiculously large breasts.

The Problem with Our Educational System

As I'm pretty sure you know, most schools are forced to reduce or cut budgets given for the artistic side of education: art, music, theatre, dance, etc. That's because those stuff are so low in the hierarchy of education. On top, you have things like mathematics and language, in the middle, the humanities and the sciences, and right at the bottom, you have the fine and performing arts. Now that's a problem. Do you know why that's a problem?

By nature, we humans are, by nature, creative beings. What happens the school system is built with tremendous emphasis on the top of the educational hierarchy, which leaves very little room for the lower part. And what happens is that with the emphasis on the mathematics and language, the children are taught not to make mistakes, which severely limits a child's creativity. You see, part of creativity is that tiny off-chance that you will make a mistake. You will screw up. Chances are you understand that this mistake is meant for you to learn. But since they're making you afraid to make mistakes, you will be less likely to take that chance to make a mistake. Also, for people who possess incredible talents in the arts such as visual art, music, or theatre, they are asked to ignore what they have and go through the boring monotony of mathematics and language. Especially at the young age, if these children are going through the rigid school system that does not allow any room for these children to move around, they will get bored with it and do other things, things dicouraged from that rigid school system. And what ends up happening is that the teachers will think they're something wrong with them. And that's just an entire rambling on its own. So that's it for today. Thank you.

So that's my rant on our public education.

Back to School

Yes. I'm back. Hooray! Let's all get pissed and watch porn. Well you lot can. Unfortunately I have this thing called school that I have to go in three hours or so. So I really can't join your partying. At some point today or tomorrow. I'm going to ask myself why the hell I woke up at 1:33 in the morning when I should be sleeping. But that point isn't now. Thus I'm just sitting here waiting for the moment where I crash to come. It's not coming....yet.

Life in a Glass House

Once again, I am having trouble with my only friend. Well, three of them. Kind of shows what a screw up, I am. With my luck, I'll probably end up friendless. Not like I really care, though. I'll occasionally miss someone to talk to, but essentially I can do that to a wall. But I'm just sick of the loneliness and the guilt I have for destroying my friendships. I tend to be brutally honest but what the hell? When I tell people the truth, they get mad at me and when I tell them a lie, they get mad at me. What exactly do people want? It's like I move in one direction and something shatters and if I move in another one, another thing shatters. I'm really tired of it. Of it all. Well, of course, I would like to sit and chew the fat but I can't. So bye.

Wisdom Teeth

So I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled out tomorrow. I have no idea how long I'll be out but people say I should just take the rest of the week off from school. Hopefully I can do that. I wouldn't mind a few days of pain just to miss the rest of this week. And besides, I can somewhat relax, before I make up the three days I'm out of school.

I tried not to do that so I did everything that I would miss today. Suffice it to say, it went down like a lead balloon. But I bought some books today so I'm slightly happy about that. Anyways sorry for the lateness and good bye..

A contre-courant

It means two things. One. It means against the current in French. Two. It's the title of a French pop song that I liked by Alizée. Well actually it's my favourite song from that particular album but never mind that. Kind of random, but the first meaning is going to be relevant...soon.

I can never seem to find a good reason why I should stay up until 11 to go to bed. It's not like I have mountains of homework that I need to do (well I do but hush about that). But since I don't have one, I might as well find one. I'm writing this. Yeah, very irresponsible of me to do that, especially when I have a biology and chemistry test tomorrow. But they're oddly easy. The biology is just about digestion, pathology, and defense. While the chemistry one is on water pollution. Shouldn't be too hard, should it?

Anyways, the reason why the phrase "A contre-courant" is important because that's what I am. I'm always against the current or the crowd. I think much differently than them, with really different results and actions. Which, occasionally, will get scary. But take for example, art. Most of my ideas were those that were never thought of or used before in my art class. And of course everyone's ideas are unique but mine..seem to deviate even that. But yeah, I don't think I'll be going to bed anytime soon since I'm photoshopping right now. Speaking of that, I have some gorgeous banners of Owen Harper from Torchwood.

Isn't he gorgeous? Well to me, at least. I just love that guy. Anyways, I have to go...bye-bye.

What is the Purpose of Life?

Now I'm not really fussed on what you believe. Just..what is the purpose of life? Why are you living and why do you wake up every day. I'll share mine...later. But for now, what do you think is the purpose of life?

Torchwood

Outside the government, beyond the police. And currently on my all-time favourite telly show to watch. Oh yeah!

I just saw, by happy chance, the latest Torchwood episode and it is fantastic! For those of you who have no idea what Torchwood is, it's a television show which is a spin-off of another television show, Doctor Who. Long story short, Torchwood deals with alien threats and the accompanied things in Cardiff. The team itself is just amazing. I'll bring up some graphics of them sometime in the near future. Right now, I have my last bloody exam to study for. Biology and general opinion said it was ranged from sort of easy to extremely hard. Not good news for me. I think I didn't do so well on mon exam de chemie (excuse my French, I was always rubbish in that class). So adieu!

Well, Friends

I am proud to announce to you I am the complete opposite of the usual stereotype. Rather being incredibly skilled in math, you will find that I am mediocre at best and at worst, completely horrible. I think that's because I spend half of my math classes drawing rather than studying. Well the way that you know I'm not the usual Asian stereotype was from yesterday's math competition. (yes I know. Math competitions are for nerds but you have some fun in it). I got one of the lowest scores in the entire competition. Don't I feel so proud. Anyways I have work to do so farewell.

So Kids...

Did you enjoy your day back at school after the winter holidays? You bet I did. Not really, no. I got the oh-so-lovely-welcome-back-homework load. Not too bad actually. I was spared from holiday work, thank heavens. But nevertheless, school's started. And I can't tell whether that's a good thing or not. It all depends...
